APD Basic Medication Administration Technician Initial Certification Course

The APD Medication Administration Class is an in-person training course designed to equip caregivers and support staff with the foundational knowledge and skills required for safe and effective medication administration in group homes and adult day training programs (ADTs).

This class is led by a certified instructor and focuses on the essential components of the medication administration process, including proper documentation, the "Five Rights" of medication administration, handling and storage of medications, and recognizing and responding to medication errors.

Upon successful completion of the course, including passing both a written exam and a hands-on skills assessment through in-person validation, students will receive a Medication Administration Certification, valid for one year. Annual renewal is required to maintain certification and ensure continued compliance with care standards.
